TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms & Conditions govern all services provided by ScanPrint-3D, located in Prague, Czech Republic. By commissioning work from ScanPrint-3D, you agree to the terms outlined below.
- General Conditions
1.1 Scope of Services
ScanPrint-3D provides 3D scanning, reverse engineering, CAD/CAS surfacing, prototype manufacturing, and 3D printing services. Each project is handled with professional care, technical expertise, and according to the agreed scope.
1.2 First contact
Contactform:
- By submitting the contact form, no binding agreement is created between the client and ScanPrint-3D. The contact form is solely intended to discuss the project scope, requirements, and initial ideas. This consultation is free of charge and allows both parties to determine whether the collaboration is a good fit and which service package best suits the client’s needs. A contract is only formed once both parties agree to proceed and full payment has been received.
1.2.1 Project Kickoff
Work begins only after:
- The client confirms the project details in writing (email is sufficient), and
- Full upfront payment is received.
1.3 Delivery of Work
Digital and physical deliverables are only released after full payment is confirmed.
1.4 Additional Work & Hourly Rate
Any tasks not included in the selected service package will be billed at
€ 95 per hour (net)
This rate includes all software licensing costs for Alias AutoStudio, Fusion 360, and other professional tools.
1.5 Filament & Material Costs
Standard materials (PLA, PETG, PETG-CF) and any filament up to €30/kg are included.
If a material exceeds €30/kg, only the difference above €30 is charged to the client.
1.6 Shipping, Duties & Taxes
Shipping costs are not included in package prices.
Clients are responsible for:
- Shipping fees
- Customs/import duties
- VAT or other taxes applicable in their country
These will be calculated separately.
1.7 Project Complexity & Revisions
Revision quantities listed in service packages are a guideline, not a fixed limit.
Adjustments may be negotiated depending on project complexity and feasibility.
- Intellectual Property & Usage Rights
2.1 Ownership Before Full Payment
Until full payment is received:
- All digital files (STL, STEP, IGES, NURBS, CAD)
- All scans
- All prototypes
- All engineering data
remain the exclusive property of ScanPrint-3D.
2.2 Package-Based Usage Rights
Different service tiers grant different rights:
Package S — “Build Only”
- Scanning of physical part from client
- Reverse-engineer the digital scan into a closed CAD model
- Deliverable: Physical part only
- No digital files included
- ScanPrint-3D retains all Interlectual property
- The client may not replicate, share, or sell reproductions
- replacement or additional prints are allowed for in-house use and charged seperately
Package M — “STL Package”
- Scanning of physical part from client
- Reverse-engineer the digital scan into a closed CAD model
- minimum 1 review loop included and will be discussed together how many are necessary
- Deliverables: Physical part + STL
- Allowed use: in-house, personal, or non-commercial
- Not permitted: reselling, mass reproduction, distribution
- ScanPrint-3D retains all IP and may resell similar STL files to other clients
Package L — “Engineering Package”
- Scanning of physical part from client
- Reverse-engineer the digital scan into a closed CAD model
- minimum 2 review loop included and will be discussed together how many are necessary
- Deliverables: STL + CAD (STEP/IGES) + physical part
- Client may use files internally for engineering or manufacturing
- Client may produce unlimited in-house parts
- Client may not resell files or derivatives
- ScanPrint-3D retains the right to resell similar digital files to other clients
- Exception: if a client requires exclusivity, this must be formally agreed and priced separately
Package XL — “Exclusive Engineering Package”
- Scanning of physical part from client
- Reverse-engineer the digital scan into a closed CAD model
- minimum 3 review loop included and will be discussed together how many are necessary
- Deliverables: Full CAD/CAS (including history), WIRE, Fusion 360, STL, NURBS, physical parts
- Client receives exclusive intellectual property rights
- Client may:
- Modify
- Resell
- Produce
- License
- Distribute the file
- ScanPrint-3D cannot resell or reuse the same digital file
- If another client requests a similar part, ScanPrint-3D must:
- Develop a new, original model from scratch, and
- Inform the new client that the existing part is protected and exclusive
This level of IP protection is especially relevant for OEM projects in automotive, aviation, industrial equipment, and prototype development.
- Liability, Quality & Limitations
3.1 Technical Limitations
3D scanning, reverse engineering, and 3D printing include inherent tolerances.
ScanPrint-3D guarantees professional quality but cannot guarantee OEM tolerances unless explicitly stated in writing.
3.2 Client Responsibilities
The client is responsible for:
- Providing accurate reference data
- Enable seamless and fast communication
- Declaring functional or safety-critical requirements
- Ensuring that their use of the delivered files complies with applicable IP laws
3.3 No Liability for Improper Use
ScanPrint-3D is not liable for:
- Damages caused by improper installation, misuse, or external modifications
- Losses arising from incorrect use of prototypes
- Issues caused by third-party manufacturers or printers
- Payment, Cancellation & Refunds
4.1 Payment Terms
- Payment is always 100% upfront
- Work starts only after payment is received
- Third-party payment fees (PayPal, Stripe) are the client’s responsibility
4.2 Cancellation Policy
- If work has not yet started: 75% refund (25% kept for upfront preparation and time blocking reserved)
- Once scanning, CAD, or modeling work has begun: no refunds
- Physical prints cannot be refunded once produced
- Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic.
Any disputes shall be settled by the competent courts located in Prague.
